Meet UKF Germany!

For those who think "a bearing is a bearing," may we present the case of UKF Germany. UKF designs and is mostly known for very special bearings and cartridge units for very special applications in the machine tool, aerospace and engineering disciplines.

UKF is a highly technical and engineering-based company. They make standard high-tolerance bearings (comparable to 71900, 7000) however their true strength lies in their ability to design and manufacture non-standard bearings, bearings that are uniquely UKF.

So what makes a bearing "uniquely UKF?" Beyond the traditional benefits associated with German precision engineering, UKF bearings are characterized by special dimensions and special configurations for special applications.

For example: UKF manufactures a high-precision, double-row, angular contact bearing, designed for face-to-face contact at a 16 ° angle, but in lieu of conventional cages, the bearing uses a third row of (non-load carrying) balls. With more balls - and free of the sliding friction from the cage - these bearings provide greater accuracy, longer life, reduced noise and heat and tremendous load carrying capacities.

And it's not just the bearing; it's also the UKF innovations that surround it, such as:

• Pioneering the use of non-contact shields made with a highly-stable plastic capable of withstanding temperatures up to 180° F.
• Direct radial lubrication distribution (through the outer ring and directly into the raceway) with several holes to ensure proper distribution and additional outer ring grooves to prevent grease migration.
• The UKF Varioring System, which adjusts preload during operation to compensate for changing speeds and rigidities, thus creating perfectly running bearings.
